FOLLOWING THE MOON RETREATS
Step away from the noise.
Immersive days and weekends
exploring Qigong, Neigong,
meditation, breathwork
and the internal arts.
THE EXPERIENCE
Explore. Experience. Practise.
Following the Moon retreats combine practice, theory and direct experience. Rather than simply spending a weekend following Qigong forms, we explore the principles behind the practices — learning how the body, breath, awareness and attention work together, and giving you methods you can continue exploring for yourself.
QIGONG & ENERGY WORK
We begin by exploring the history and philosophy of Qigong and energy work — what we are practising, why we practise it and the principles that sit behind the methods.
We then put those ideas into practice, exploring Wuji stance, breathing, tongue positioning, internal movement and principles such as “moving the arms without moving the arms.”
QIGONG FORMS & PRACTICE
Across the retreat we explore different Qigong movements and forms, bringing together posture, relaxation, breath, awareness, intention and internal principles.
There is also time to ask questions, revisit practices and explore aspects of the work independently.
SOUND & VIBRATION
We explore the use of our own voice and vibration, learning to direct sound and awareness towards different areas of the body.
Sessions also include the deep resonance of a Hygeia planetary gong, providing an opportunity to experience sound through stillness and deep listening.
AWARENESS & QI SENSITIVITY
Through body and energy-awareness exercises, we explore how to become more sensitive to what is happening within and around the body.
These drills provide a foundation for experiencing Qi more directly before bringing that awareness into Qigong forms, movements and stillness practices.
EASTERN & WESTERN BREATHWORK
We explore breathing from both Eastern and Western perspectives — including dysfunctional breathing patterns, breathing assessment and CO₂ tolerance, alongside Daoist breathing methods and other practical techniques.
SPIRITUALITY & NON-DUALITY
Through talks and open discussion, we explore spirituality, non-duality and some of the shared foundations and questions found across different religious, philosophical and contemplative traditions.
The emphasis isn't on adopting a particular belief system, but on exploration, experience and discussion.
And space in between. Chinese tea tasting, walks in nature, Q&As, conversation and periods of solo practice give you time to absorb the work rather than simply rushing from one session to the next.
